Secure Advertiser Access

Learn how to restrict advertiser access to specific users in Bionic for Agencies.

Learn in Bionic Academy: Manage Your Advertisers - Intermediate

By default, all users will have access to all advertisers and related campaigns. However, if you have scenarios where access needs to be restricted, you can limit access to specific advertisers.

There are a couple of common scenarios we can look at:

  • Your agency represents competing companies. In this scenario, you are likely contending with teams who legally are not allowed access to see any data related to their client's competition. In this case, you can easily set up restricted access to each of the clients so only designated team members can access their respective client.
  • Within a specific client, there may business segment breakouts that need to be restricted. In this case, you can assign specific team members that can see the entire client, while limiting specific users to just the business segments they need access to.

NOTE: Admin users have access to ALL advertisers and related campaigns.

Here are the options for establishing access to advertisers:

  1. Restrict Access to Advertisers
  2. Open Access to Advertisers

Restrict Access to Advertisers

Restricting access to advertisers will limit who has access to that particular advertiser.

When you have advertiser hierarchy, users set at higher levels will have access to any levels beneath that level.

For example:

In this case, I set Logan as having access to Waystar Royco. This will give him access to all of the advertisers under Waystar.

Setting Tom access to Broadcast will give him access to Broadcast, ATN, and NCN, but not Entertainment or the Brightstar brands, which is assigned to Greg.

Setting Nancy, Mary, and Carl at the bottom levels will only give them access to the specific brands they are added to.

  4. Select the Users who should have access to this advertiser.
  5. Press Done.
  6. Repeat for each advertiser level as needed.

CAUTION: If you are setting restrictions, be sure to adjust all advertisers as appropriate. The default is OPEN, which will give users full access to the advertiser.

Open Access to Advertisers

If restrictions have been set that you no longer want applied, you can always adjust the access back to Open.

  1. In the Settings tab of the advertiser, go to the Agency Team section.
  2. Click the option for Open.
