Introducing new technologies that impact how teams work can seem overwhelming and scary. It doesn't have to be.

Keep it simple! Crawl, walk, then run.

You can easily feel like you have to do everything all at once. You don't need to. Start with the basics, and build out from there.

Here is what you need to know about onboarding:

  1. Evaluation
  2. Learning Checklist
  3. Roll Out

Evaluation

Whether you are a team of 3 or 1,000, every company will do some form of evaluation to make sure Bionic will work.

If you are a small team to begin with, evaluation will be your roll out. Larger teams will do this in phases.

  1. Start with a small group - This team will define how you will use Bionic. They will become your experts and platform advocates once you start rolling out.

  2. Identify your objectives – These will be the core functional area you need to achieve to identify success.

  3. Identify a test client & media plan – Choose a client & plan that could represent the bigger picture of your environment. This will set the stage to help you define a baseline around needs & workflows. It is recommended to chose a historical plan to avoid deadline challenges while you are learning. It also makes it easier to help you translate old ways to new.

  4. Training - Utilize the training, help content, and support available. It is better to ask than to struggle.

  5. Document - Be sure to document internal processes and workflows so they can be utilized during the rollout to end users.

  6. Understand change management - Implementing new workflows  and operating "outside of what you know" can be challenging. The more knowledgeable you are about Bionic, the easier it will be. And the end result it worth it!

Learning Checklist

The areas of Bionic you need to learn, and order in which you learn, could vary based on what you are trying to get out of Bionic.

Below is a typical phased approach.

Phase 1

Advertiser (Client) Build Out

Advertisers will represent your client, or your company if you are an in-house media team. You can create individual advertisers or develop a hierarchy to enable you to roll up data at different levels. Campaigns will be created under the respective advertiser.

Check out Advertiser Configuration in Bionic Academy.

  1. Set up your Advertiser

Media Planning

You will begin the planning process by creating a campaign, establishing budgets if needed, then building out the placements.

Check out Media Planning (Part 1) in Bionic Academy. When you are ready, move on to Media Planning (Part 2).

  1. Create a campaign

  2. Set Your Budgets

  3. Build out your plan

Customize Your Plan

The data you track in media plans can be customized to meet your needs.

  1. Do you need to add Agency Commission?
  2. Do you need to add Production Costs?

  3. Do you need to add Delivery Costs?

  4. Do you want to track KPIs?

  5. Do you need to track other data?

RFPs

Utilize RFPs to reach out to vendors for proposals. This functionality will enable you to negotiate, then add line items with one click. This can be used for any direct buy. It is also a critical component for TV, Radio, and Cable buys, allowing for a streamlined, easy way to communicate and add schedules to your plan.

  1. Automate RFPs

Presentations & Approvals

There are a number of ways to present the media plan to your clients or internal teams.

  1. Flowcharts
  2. Media Authorization
  3. PowerPoint Presentation
  4. Allocation Charts
  5. Looker Data Studio Dashboards

If you need another type of presentation, contact your CSM.

Use the Bionic training and documentation resources available to assist with their learning process. Any internal process documentation you have created along your journey will be useful supplements to guide them along your defined path.
